The global industry body said the release of internationally harmonised spectrum in the 800MHz and 2.6GHz bands would generate an additional SR358bn ($95.5bn) in Saudi GDP and create 425,000 jobs between 2013 and 2025, Peter Lyons, GSMA director of spectrum policy, Africa and Middle East, told the daily. "This sum could fall to just $26bn if the release of the necessary spectrum is delayed to 2018, and the number of jobs created could be reduced to just 75,000," Lyons said.
