2012-03-04 - kuna - The Peninsula Shield Force is the joint army of the GCC states that has proven its capacity to take action for defense of the member states of the council, affirmed the Defense Minister of Saudi Arabia. Prince Salman bin Abd al-Aziz, in an interview published by the Kuwaiti daily newspaper al-Siyassah and its sisterly English-language issue, the Arab Times, on Sunday, affirmed that joint GCC army was no longer a dream, but a force that had proven capable of carrying out military and combat action during the 1990 Iraqi aggression on Kuwait and against Iranian intervention in Bahrain.
