Saudi telecom chief doubts Mobily over new tech launch
2012-01-26 - AMEinfo.com | Saudi Arabia | Latest News - Saudi Arabia: Khaled al-Kaf, the chief executive of Etihad Etisalat (Mobily) has said the Saudi telecoms firm lacks the spectrum to roll out a highly-touted next generation mobile network, hampering efforts to offset falling voice margins with more lucrative data packages, Reuters has reported. "The regulator is working with different authorities in the kingdom to free the spectrum," said al-Kaf. "We don't have the spectrum for mobile LTE. Spectrum will be a big issue in Saudi Arabia with the exponential growth in data."
