2011-10-11 - AMEinfo.com | Saudi Arabia | Latest News - Saudi Arabia: Saudi Arabia and Sudan have agreed to produce gold, silver, and copper in large quantities from the bottom of the Red Sea within three years, Reuters has reported. The plan is set to begin in 2014 utilising special drill ships, Abbas al-Sheikh, undersecretary in the Sudanese mining ministry said. Sudan will explore the Atlantis II basin, which is located roughly half way between the Saudi port city of Jeddah and Port Sudan, with Saudi firm Manafa International which has formed a joint-venture with Canadian firm Diamond Fields International for the task.
