2007-08-11 - Saudi Gazette - Prince Nayif bin Abd al-Aziz, Minister of Interior, issued new directives defining the crimes that necessitate detention. The new guidelines will be effective two days from today i.e. from August 14. Hudud, which is an Islamic social and legal term defining the bounds of acceptable behavior and the punishments for serious crimes, will incur capital punishment and amputation.
