Saudi cities see mixed hotel occupancy
2012-07-08 - AMEinfo.com | Saudi Arabia | Latest News - Saudi Arabia: According to figures by TRI Hospitality Consulting, hotels Saudi Arabia's two major cities have registered mixed occupancy results last May, with Jeddah hotels achieving record occupancy rates, while Riyadh starting to feel the summer slump, Saudi Gazette has reported. Hotels in Jeddah saw a 9% growth in occupancy, with occupancy at four - and five-star chain hotels in the city reaching 82.9%. Average room rates rose 11.8% year-on-year to $220.15 during the month. Occupancy rates in Riyadh fell 3.3% to 67.3%, compared with the same month a year earlier, the report said.
