National Water allocates $66.4bn for projects in Saudi Arabia
2012-04-24 - AMEinfo.com | Saudi Arabia | Latest News - Saudi Arabia: Saudi Arabia's state-owned utility, National Water Co has announced plans to spend $66.4bn on plants and repairs over the next 10 years, Bloomberg has reported. The plan includes wastewater facilities, an airport water-treatment plant at the Red Sea port of Jeddah and repairs to leaking pipes, Osama Dardeer, senior manager for corporate projects said. The state-run utility has repaired leaks in Saudi Arabia's water transmission network, saving 67 million cubic metres of water since 2008, Dardeer said. The value of water saved is about SR402m ($107m), he said.
