Saudi Arabia says it has no plans to scrap scholarship programme
2012-04-17 - AMEinfo.com | Saudi Arabia | Latest News - Saudi Arabia: The Saudi higher education minister, Khaled Al-Anqari has said the kingdom still needs the King Abdullah Foreign Scholarship Programme to send more students abroad for higher studies, dismissing reports that suggested the programme is to be scrapped, Arab News has reported. The scholarship program allows Saudi students to go to the world's best universities to pursue bachelor's, master's and doctorate degrees. "It is imperative not to assume that there is a possibility for cancellation of the programme, which still attains greater significance. This ambitious programme will be continued so as to realise its lofty objectives," he said. "This program could be either expanded or restricted in future, but don't assume that this will be cancelled," he said.
