Saudi Aramco set to re-open oldest oilfield to tap heavy crude
2012-02-18 - AMEinfo.com | Saudi Arabia | Latest News - Saudi Arabia: Saudi Aramco plans to reopen the country's oldest oilfield, the Dammam 7 field, for the first time in 30 years, in a bid to raise its output of heavy crude, the Economist Intelligence Unit has reported. The mothballed Dammam oilfield, which produced about 32 million barrels of oil before it was closed down, has around 500 million barrels of oil and may yield as much as 100,000 barrels a day of Arabian Heavy crude, the report said.
