2007-09-23 - Saudi Gazette - The celebration of National Day today in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reminds the nation of the unification of the Kingdom by its founder, the late King Abdal-Aziz. On September 10, 1933, King Abd al-Aziz bin Abd al-Rahman al-Faysal announced the unification of the regions of the country under the name of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The announcement came after a 32-year struggle during which he laid the foundation of this country based on the Holy Qur'an and the Prophet's Sunna. King Abd al-Aziz passed away but not without establishing a righteous method pursued by his sons King Saud, King Faysal, the pioneer of the Islamic solidarity, King Khalid, King Fahd and King Abdallah.
